Visualizing Your Goals

By Jill Koenig
Author, Coach, Motivational Speaker

"Without leaps of imagination, or dreaming, we lose the excitement of possibilities. Dreaming, after all, is a form of planning." –Gloria Steinem

Because visualization is so easy to do, most people overlook doing it. Most people do not understand the power of the subconscious mind. It's always there inside you just waiting for you to unleash it for good.

Before any revolution can occur in the outside world, it must first occur inside you. Your #1 job in visualization is to believe and be ready to receive.

Every physical manifestation begins with a mental creation. Your ability to take your highest goals and continually hold them in your thoughts with passion, excitement and enthusiasm will cause them to become real.

Most people unconsciously use visualization when they worry about things. They literally make themselves sick by dwelling on the negative things in life over things that will never even happen.

Those precious moments amount to time lost forever.

That was time you could have spend thinking about something more positive and productive. You can train yourself to dwell in possibility, thinking about positive things, like your goals and dreams.

There is a process that increases the level of excitement and intensity so much that you actually feel like you’re there before it even happens. Visualization is a powerful tool.

The ability to FEEL and experience your goals as already having been realized will anchor the emotion of success into your body and into your subconscious mind. Your subconscious mind doesn’t know the difference between a picture in your mind’s eye and what is real outside.

Take yourself deep into the emotion as if you are experiencing your goal and it will energize you. The great athletes and great leaders of the world know that the subconscious mind is the most powerful advantage they have.

It takes so little effort and time to do but it’s the number one most overlooked component to speeding up the process of achievement.

Spend a few moments right now and close your eyes.

Allow yourself to relax. Imagine your goal as if you have already achieved it. Let yourself go there completely. Who is there with you celebrating? You'll know you are getting there when a smile warms your face. The more you do this, the better you'll get at it. You will actually find yourself getting emotional and feeling true joy just thinking about your goal. This is real. You can take these sensations as far as you want for as long as you want any time you wish.

How does it feel to have achieved your goal?

Congratulations!

Jill Koenig
